When reflecting on what approach I would like to use when developing my next textile piece I look through work I have already made along with looking through books/journals/websites of other artists work. While searching through some of my images I came across a cushion I made which was inspired by my childhood love of mermaids & related stories; along with the beautiful colours & visions of the sea.
I thoroughly enjoyed designing & making the cushion especially as I had a very specially little lady in mind to receive it. It was interesting reflecting on how revisiting the cushion motivated and inspired me even though it does not inform my next piece of work. I do think it is useful to remind yourself of what you can achieve when planning a new project, as the beginning can feel overwhelming.
Although at some point I need to just get my head down & get on with it……….. Maybe now is that time
Welcome to my website, please take the time to look around.
At this moment I have only developed the front page and my blogging page but decided to publish anyway. As my site is about creating objects and imagery I felt it was important to share this process as well. So over the next few weeks you can watch my website develop, shape and grow. I want the site to become organic and change as I develop new work and discover new and exciting things either relating to inspiration and others artwork.
Please keep coming back and let me know what you think about the things you see and read about
